Lifting & Skill Mechanic Education in Colorado Springs
Learn to lift smarter, move more efficiently, and avoid injury with one-on-one coaching tailored to your sport and goals.
Master the Foundations. Elevate Your Performance.
Lifting well is about more than strength—it's about movement quality, control, and confidence. At Summit Physio & Performance, we offer focused, one-on-one sessions that combine clinical insight with real-world coaching to help you lift smarter, move better, and stay injury-free.
Our Lifting & Skill Mechanic assessments are ideal for:
CrossFit and functional fitness athletes looking to refine Olympic lifts, gymnastics movements, and barbell skills
Olympic and powerlifters
Recreational lifters with nagging pain
Beginners building their foundation
Post-injury athletes returning to sport
Anyone who wants to move better under a barbell, on the rig, or through complex movement patterns
We assess how your body moves, where compensations show up, and how your technique can be optimized for both performance and longevity. These assessments are typically integrated into your comprehensive physical therapy or performance training plan, not delivered as standalone sessions.
Improving technique is a fundamental step in recovery from an injury, or preventing future injury.

What to Expect During Your Session
Assessment & Movement Review
We start with a mobility, strength, and detailed subjective history exam to find movement restrictions or motor control issues that may be affecting your lifts, gymnastics skills, or functional movements.
Video Analysis
We film your lifts, gymnastics movements, and sport-specific skills from multiple angles—whether it's barbell work, pull-ups, toes-to-bar, handstand push-ups, muscle-ups, wall balls, or other functional movements, and slow things down to uncover form breakdowns and movement inefficiencies.
Technique Coaching & Corrections
You'll receive individualized feedback and cueing, with drills and progressions tailored to your needs. We address everything from barbell positioning and bracing to kipping mechanics, bar path, lat engagement, depth, shoulder stability, and joint positioning to help you move better and more efficiently.
Movement Integration
We reinforce corrections with purposeful movement to build muscle memory and ensure long-term carryover. We often break down the skill into simple steps and have you focus on a few things, instead of correcting everything at once.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be injured to book?
Not at all! Many of our clients are pain-free athletes who simply want a movement expert to help dial in their form on whatever skill they need help with. Will I get a workout? Sessions are technique-focused but active. You’ll move with intention and get quality reps, not just theory.
Can I bring my program or coach’s input?
Absolutely. We’re happy to collaborate with your coach or use your programming as a foundation for feedback. We often will discuss what we find on evaluation in order to integrate findings into your personal training, or coach's training program.
