Recovery Sessions at Summit Physio & Performance

1-on-1 sessions built to help you recharge, repair, and reset—because recovery isn’t just for injury, it’s essential for performance.

Why Recovery Should Be Part of Your Training Plan

At Summit Physio & Performance, we believe recovery is not just a response to pain or injury, it’s a critical pillar of long-term athletic development. Whether you’re coming off a CrossFit competition, prepping for a race, or managing fatigue from high-volume training, our Recovery Sessions are designed to help you feel better, move better, and perform at your best.

This isn’t passive recovery. It’s an integrated, evidence-informed process tailored to your needs and built around your body. We combine therapeutic tools like dry needling, cuptherapy, and soft tissue massage with a movement-first mindset to help you:

  • Reduce soreness and muscle fatigue

  • Improve circulation and tissue oxygenation

  • Reestablish mobility after heavy training

  • Feel more restored and resilient, faster

Recovery Sessions are open to all levels, from elite athletes to weekend warriors to those simply looking to feel more energized and move without tension.

Who Recovery Sessions Are For

Recovery isn’t just for the injured. In fact, many of our most dedicated clients use it as preventative care or post-performance reset.

You’ll benefit from a Recovery Session if you:

  • Recently finished a CrossFit comp, endurance race, or weight lifting competition

  • Are mid-training cycle and feeling tight, sore, or sluggish

  • Want to recover better between heavy lifts, long runs, or metcons

  • Sit at a desk all day and feel chronically stiff or fatigued

  • Experience delayed soreness that limits next-day performance

  • Feel "run down" but aren’t sure why

  • Just want to give your body a high-quality tune-up

  • Are interested in prevention

You don’t need a diagnosis or a doctor’s referral. You just need the willingness to take care of your body before it forces you to.

What’s Included in a Recovery Session

Each session is tailored to your current state and recovery goals. You’ll work 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who understands movement, performance, and recovery physiology.

Depending on your needs, a session may include:

Dry Needling (with or without E-Stim)

To target deep muscular tension, improve pain, improve blood flow, and reduce overactive trigger points. When we perform recovery-style dry needling with E-stim, we often target large muscle grups that have the high O2 flux, which helps with circulation. We often use a stimulation intensity that is slow and leave needles in for 20-30 min for optimal results.”

Myofascial Decompression Cuptherapy

Creates negative pressure to lift and decompress tissue, enhance circulation, and promote faster recovery from muscle tightness or fatigue.

Soft Tissue & Manual Therapy

Hands-on release techniques targeting fascial restrictions, tight muscles, and overused tissues.

IASTM / Scraping

Used to reduce adhesions, stimulate blood flow, and restore soft tissue glide.

Movement-Based Recovery

Gentle guided mobility drills, breathwork, and flow-based patterns to reinforce the effects of manual therapy.

Recovery-Focused Education

We’ll explain what’s going on, what to expect post-treatment, and how to self-manage recovery with tools at home.

What Makes Our Recovery Sessions Different?

  • Each session is delivered by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. Not a tech, not a trainer. You’re getting skilled hands and eyes with deep training in recovery science.

  • We understand what high-volume training does to the body and how to help you bounce back without setbacks.

  • Instead of only dry needling or just cupping, we mix modalities based on how your body presents that day.

  • No two sessions are the same. We adapt to your sport, soreness level, and movement goals.

  • Our Colorado Springs location inside CrossFit Tava allows us to merge performance therapy with real-world application.

Will I be sore after?

You may feel slight soreness, especially after dry needling or deep tissue work, but most clients report feeling more mobile, relaxed, and ready to train again.

How often should I schedule?

This depends on training intensity and goals. Some clients come weekly, others after comps or during deloads. We’ll help you find a cadence that works.
