Urinary Leakage, Urgency & Frequency

Leaking when you cough, jump, lift, or run, or feeling like you always need to go.

Pelvic Pain

Pain in the pelvis, tailbone, hips, or pelvic floor that limits daily life or training.

Painful Intercourse

Pain or discomfort with intimacy, assessed and treated in a private, respectful setting.

Constipation & Bowel Dysfunction

Straining, incomplete emptying, or bowel urgency linked to pelvic floor coordination.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Recovery

Support during pregnancy and a structured return to strength and exercise after birth.

Core Weakness & Diastasis Recti

Pelvic Pressure During Lifting or Exercise

Heaviness or pressure under load, managed with pressure strategies and targeted strength work.

Return to Running, CrossFit & High-Impact Activity

A guided plan back to running, double unders, box jumps, and heavy lifting.

Male Pelvic Health

Pelvic pain, bladder, and bowel concerns in men, treated with the same individualized approach.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Can Affect Anyone

Pelvic floor dysfunction isn't limited to women during pregnancy or postpartum. Athletes, lifters, runners, men, and people in every stage of life can experience leakage, pain, or pressure. Your symptoms are worth addressing, and you don't have to simply live with them.

Athletes & Lifters

Leaking during double unders, heavy squats, or the last miles of a run often means the demands of that activity are outpacing your current pressure management, not that you are weak.

Pregnancy, Postpartum & Beyond

Whether you are pregnant, recently postpartum, or years out, it is never too late to address pelvic floor symptoms.

Men

Pelvic pain, bladder, and bowel symptoms affect men too, and pelvic health physical therapy can help.

What to Expect at Your Pelvic Health Visit

Dr. Bree takes an individualized approach. Rather than telling you to stop exercising, your plan is built around your symptoms, your goals, and the way you actually train.

1

Listen

We start with a one-on-one conversation about your symptoms, history, goals, and the activities you want to get back to.

2

Assess

Your evaluation may look at breathing, core coordination, hip strength, mobility, and lifting or running mechanics. An internal pelvic floor exam may be recommended when appropriate, always with your consent, and it is not required for every patient.

3

Treat

Your plan may include manual therapy, breathing and core coordination, pressure management, progressive strength training, and a personalized home program.

4

Return

We progress you back to running, lifting, CrossFit, and everyday life so you can keep doing what you love with confidence.

Pelvic Health FAQs

Quick answers to common questions about pelvic health physical therapy. For general questions about evaluations, what to wear, and cancellations, visit our full FAQ page.

Do I need an internal pelvic floor exam?
No. An internal exam can provide helpful information, but it is only recommended when appropriate and it is always your choice. Many patients are treated without one.
Is pelvic health physical therapy only for women?
No. Pelvic floor dysfunction can affect anyone, including men, athletes, and people who have never been pregnant.
Can I keep training during treatment?
In most cases, yes. Our goal is to help you keep doing what you love while we address what's driving your symptoms.
Do I need a referral?
No. In Colorado, you can see a physical therapist without a referral.
Will my pelvic health visit be private?
Yes. Every visit is one-on-one with Dr. Bree, and any assessment or treatment is explained and agreed on with you first.
